This is an update to the notification sent on 25/11, regarding authentication problems for some customers using the iOS Bank of Ireland mobile banking app.
We have found that the problem impacted customers on v.2.5.1 of the BOI app, which accounts for around 20% of total Open Banking users. A new version of the app, v.2.5.2, fixes the issue and has been fast-tracked for submission to Apple for review today.
A final update will be sent when the new app version is available in the App Store. This is expected to be 01/12. When it is available, customers will have to download the new version to be able to authenticate AIS and PIS. We apologise for the inconvenience caused, and steps are being taken to ensure that future app updates do not cause similar issues.
