Which date are you planning on implementing the SCA reauthentication exemption?

What is your approach to token management to enable application of the reauthentication exemption? (see link to FCA guidance)


The following will apply from the Implementation Date:

  • All AIS consents issued after the implementation date will be long-lived, and not require re-authentication 90 days later.
  • For all pre-existing consents, the same will apply the first-time re-authentication takes place after the Implementation Date.
  • In line with NewDay’s current implementation, access and refresh tokens will continue to be used. Access tokens will continue to have a TTL of 60 minutes.
  • When the AISP calls to exchange a Refresh Token, the expiry of that Refresh Token shall be aligned with the most recent Consent.
    • Consents created with no Expiry Date - Refresh Token shall have a long-lived Expiry Date 
    • Consents that still have an Expiry Date - Refresh Token Expiry Date aligns with Consent Expiry Date
  • Re-authentication will also be required for scenarios where the customer has revoked access using the bank’s facilities
  • We do not expect TPPs will need to take any action after the Implementation Date
